Underfloor Heating

As the heating solution becomes part of the floor, with no hot or moving parts, you can still enjoy an uncluttered home, as well as a maintenance-free heating system. Best of all, this clean, silent and odour-free heating solution will not dry out the air or aggravate allergies.

Underwood Heating

Warmup’s wafer thin underlaminate heater fits between the floor and underlay. If it wasn’t for the lovely warm feeling in the room, you would never know it had been fitted.

Our underlaminate heaters are foil based, ensuring even heat distribution. Thanks to the technology, they are 100% waterproof, further acting as an earth shield over the internal core wire. Built with spring like flexibility, the core wire is a durable cushion that can withstand heavy furniture, snooker tables, stiletto heels and other household items, provided installation is done correctly.

The underlaminate heating pads are designed to never overheat and can be left on continuously. However due to the SAWALFA regulations for heating laminates, a floor sensor is to be installed under the pad, between the heating wires. The sensor works in conjunction with an intelligent Warmup thermostat, which ensures that the temperature never exceeds 27°C under the laminate. To ensure the laminate is heated evenly, at least 90% of the floor space must be covered with heating pads.

Underlaminate Heating

  • Laminate

Laminate heating pads are suitable for use under most modern laminate locking systems, however glued timber floors require a different type of Warmup heating solution.

  • Foil Heating Pad

Warmup’s heating pads are a result of more than three decades of advanced research and development. It is important to cover at least 90% of the floor space with heating pads, to ensure the laminate is heated evenly.

  • Underlay and Damp Proof Membrane

A good quality underlay is essential to protect the heating pad and reduce downward heat loss. A minimum of 200 micron damp proof membrane should be used, or Combilay Underlay.

  • Subfloor

To ensure you enjoy the full lifespan of the heating system, it is vital that the subfloor is perfectly smooth and level, and free of stones and grit.

Undervinyl Heating

Warmup’s custom-laid heating elements allow full coverage of the floor, evenly heating the vinyl tiles and gently radiating warmth into the room.

As the heating solution becomes part of the floor, with no hot or moving parts, you can still enjoy an uncluttered home, as well as a maintenance-free heating system. Best of all, this clean, silent and odour-free heating solution will not dry out the air or aggravate allergies.

The cable used beneath vinyls is designed never to overheat and can be left on continuously. However the vinyl flooring manufacturers specify that the floor temperature may not exceed 27’C. A floor sensor then must be used in conjunction with an intelligent Warmup thermostat to control the heating system accordingly. To ensure the vinyls are heated evenly, at least 90% of the floor space must be covered with the heating system.

Vinyl

Heating can be installed beneath most clip-vinyl floor systems, however glued vinyls require a different type of Warmup heating solution.

• Screed

A thin, self-levelling screed is poured over the heating system, to bond it to the subfloor and protect the heating cables. The screed must be smooth and level to provide a suitable surface for the vinyls.

• Mesh

A fibreglass resin coated mesh is laid over the heating elements to protect the cable and strengthen the screed.

• Heating Cables

Our heating cables are factory tested at 5000 volts, to ensure safety and longevity. The Teflon coated cables are extremely thin, minimizing the overall change in your floor height.

•Subfloor

The subfloor should be smooth, level and strong, to ensure a good bond between the screeds.

UNDERCARPET HEATING

Under-carpet heaters consist of a hard reinforced industrial aluminium foil pad . The heating wires are sandwiched between these two materials. Because of the excellent conductivity of aluminium, heat-transfer is done swiftly, with minimum heat losses, and as a result, quite a saving on running costs.

The underfloor heating come in different sizes and power outputs. The finest imported heating conductors are used and the engineered fluorocarbon thermoplastic coating which insulates the heating wires ensures lifetime durability.

These heaters are laid directly between the under-felt and the wall-to-wall carpets. As the heater is in firm contact with the carpet, the warmth emanating from it, is felt within minutes. Because of their design, the warmth is well distributed and not confined to a particular spot as with conventional heaters. Furthermore, the room temperature can be regulated by means of a thermostat with a built-in pilot light allowing the consumer to monitor his comfort.

Flat bottomed, solid base furniture or mattresses must never be allowed to rest on top of a heater while switched on. This will cause the heat to be trapped and the unit will overheat. This could result in the discolouring of the carpet surface. A 20mm air-gap is needed between the furniture and the carpet for the heat to be able to dissipate.

• Carpet

Warmup’s undercarpet heating pads can be used beneath almost all types of carpeting.

• Foil Heating Pad

Warmup’s heating pads are a result of more than three decades of advanced research and development. The undercarpet heating pads are designed never to overheat and can be left on continuously.

• Underlay

A good quality underlay is essential. Warmup recommends a standard 1000 – 1200 gram underfelt, as well as the Belgotex Orange Underlay.

•Subfloor

To ensure you enjoy the full lifespan of the heating system, the subfloor must be smooth and level, and free of all stones and grit.
