Think Underfloor Heating Is Expensive?

See the monthly saving for yourself.

We crunched the real numbers using 2025 SA electricity rates, and the results might surprise you.
Underfloor heating can save you up to R349 per room, every month, compared to running a standard oil heater.

Important installation notes:

    • A floor sensor will be installed to prevent overheating.
    • Glued-down wood floors require a different system; we’ll advise the best solution.
    • A minimum of 90% floor coverage ensures even heating.
    • High-quality underlay and moisture barriers are used for efficiency and longevity.

Underwood Heating

Engineered for performance and comfort, our underwood heating systems are compatible with a wide range of engineered timber floors. Using foil or in-screed solutions from Warmup, this system offers consistent warmth without compromising your floor’s stability or finish.

Best suited for:

    • Engineered wood flooring
    • Floating or click-lock installations
    • Living rooms, bedrooms, and open-plan areas

Why it works:

    • Low-profile design, no raised floor height
    • Thermostat-controlled to stay below 27°C
    • Silent and safe, no hot surfaces or moving parts
    • No air movement, ideal for allergy-sensitive environments
  •

Underlaminate Heating

  • Warmup’s ultra-thin foil heating pads are installed directly beneath laminate flooring, ensuring even heat distribution without raising floor height.

  • Why it works well:

      • 100% waterproof foil system
      • Spring-flex core resists damage from heavy furniture
      • Includes a floor sensor and thermostat to regulate temperature
      • Safe for most modern laminate click systems

Installation note: At least 90% of the floor should be covered to ensure even warmth. A high-quality underlay and 200-micron damp-proof membrane are essential.

Undertile Heating

Luxury warmth beneath every tile

Tiled floors may look clean and modern, but they’re often cold underfoot, especially in winter. Our undertile heating systems deliver consistent, silent warmth right where you need it, hidden beneath your flooring. Ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, and living spaces, this system offers comfort without compromise.

Undertile Heating

How it works

Thin, durable heating cables are installed directly onto the subfloor, then covered with a resin-coated mesh and a self-leveling screed. This creates a secure base for tiling while safely housing the heating elements. The system is efficient, fast-heating, and requires no maintenance once installed.

Key Benefits

    • Quick to heat – Reaches comfortable temperatures within 30–60 minutes.
    • Completely hidden – No visible elements or bulky units.
    • Safe & waterproof – Tough insulation resists wear, pressure, and moisture.
    • Energy-efficient – Thermostat-compatible for zone control and power saving.
    • Allergy-friendly – No fans, dust, or air movement.
    • Custom-fit – Works under ceramic, porcelain, marble, and slate tiles.

Installation Considerations

    • Tile Type: Compatible with most tile finishes.
    • Coverage: We recommend heating 60–100% of the floor area for best results.
    • Screed Layer: A smooth, self-leveling screed ensures full adhesion and protection.
    • Mesh Layer: Reinforces the surface while protecting heating cables.
    • Subfloor: Must be level, clean, and solid for proper bonding.
    • Control: Can be paired with smart thermostats for precision control.
  •

Ideal for:

    • New builds or renovations
    • Bathrooms and wet rooms
    • Kitchens and sculleries
    • Anywhere tiles meet chilly mornings

Built to last

Our undertile systems are manufactured using high-performance materials designed for durability and daily use. All cables are factory-tested to meet rigorous safety standards and are covered by a 10-year installation warranty when fitted by our certified team.

Undervinyl Heating

Designed for use beneath luxury vinyl tiles (LVT), our underfloor heating cables gently warm your space from below without disturbing the finish.

Ideal for:

    • Clip-on vinyl floors
    • Bathrooms and kitchens
    • Screeded surfaces

Installation includes:

    • Custom heating cables
    • Mesh layer to protect cables and reinforce screed
    • Floor sensor and Warmup thermostat
    • Ultra-thin Teflon-coated wires

Note: Glued-down vinyl may require an alternative solution. Vinyl floors must not exceed 27°C.

    1. Vinyl Flooring Compatibility
      • Underfloor heating works well with most modern click-together vinyl flooring systems. If your vinyl flooring is glued down or uses a non-floating installation method, we’ll recommend an alternative heating setup to ensure performance and safety.
    2. Screed Layer
      • A thin, self-levelling screed is poured over the heating system to encase and protect the cables. This creates a flat, even surface that bonds securely to the vinyl planks or tiles, and prevents damage during installation or over time.
    3. Mesh Reinforcement
      • A fibreglass mesh is laid over the heating elements before screeding. This strengthens the floor build-up and helps keep the heating cables safely in place while adding structural support.
    4. Heating Cables
      • Our heating cables are ultra-thin, high-strength, and rigorously tested for electrical safety. They’re designed to provide even heat distribution with minimal impact on floor height — ideal for low-profile renovations.
    5. Subfloor Preparation
      • A clean, level, and stable subfloor is essential. Any imperfections, grit, or uneven areas must be corrected before installation to ensure a smooth finish and long-lasting performance.
